Security notice: Phishing emails impersonating Out of the Sandbox
We want to make our community aware of a recent wave of phishing emails that impersonate Out of the Sandbox. These messages use our name and branding to appear legitimate, and they are designed to trick recipients into clicking links, downloading attachments, or sharing personal and account information.
We take the security of our merchants and partners seriously, and we want to give you a clear, simple way to tell the difference between a genuine message from us and a fraudulent one.
How to recognise a genuine email from us
Legitimate emails from Out of the Sandbox only ever come from our official sending domain:
outofthesandbox.com
If you receive an email claiming to be from us that comes from any other address, treat it as suspicious. This includes free email services such as Gmail, as well as lookalike domains that swap or add characters to resemble our real address.
What the phishing emails may look like
Fraudulent messages of this kind often share a few common traits:
- They create a sense of urgency, for example warning that your account will be suspended or that immediate action is required
- They ask you to click a link to log in, verify details, or make a payment
- They include attachments you were not expecting
- They contain small spelling or formatting errors, or an address that is close to but not exactly ours
Scammers are becoming more convincing, so please check the sender address carefully even when a message looks polished.
What to do if you receive a suspicious email
If you get an email that claims to be from Out of the Sandbox but does not come from outofthesandbox.com, we recommend that you:
- Do not click any links or download any attachments
- Do not reply or share any account, payment, or personal information
- Report the message as phishing through your email provider
- Delete the email
If you are ever unsure whether a message is really from us, do not use the contact details in the email itself. Instead, reach out to us directly through our website and we will be happy to confirm.
Our commitment
We will never ask you to confirm sensitive account or payment details through an unexpected email link. Keeping our community safe matters to us, and we are grateful to everyone who takes a moment to check before they click.
Thank you for your continued trust in Out of the Sandbox.
