Since launching in 2011, Out of the Sandbox has revolutionized the landscape of Shopify themes — and we’re about to do it again.

Whether it’s the latest, feature-packed update to our very first Shopify theme, Responsive, or our 2013 Shopify Design Award for the Retina Shopify theme used on the Whipping Post, Out of the Sandbox has been at the forefront of innovation, design and functionality when it comes to Shopify themes.

And now, after months of prototyping, development and thorough testing Out of the Sandbox is poised to revolutionize the Shopify theme world again with a new release that will change the game for larger stores and Shopify Plus merchants (or just about any store owner) looking for the perfect combination of performance, design and flexibility.

While the final details are still being finalized, here’s a quick look at some of what’s coming:

  • We’ll be adding to our already comprehensive library of Shopify themes with a new offering geared specifically toward larger stores.
  • This latest release is designed with store owners with extensive product lines or high volume in mind, including Shopify Plus merchants.
  • Our latest release will be the most comprehensive and fine-tuned project we’ve ever released.
  • This new release will also incorporate feedback from thousands of users by addressing some of the most common requests we see in our support center, including the unique challenges that large volume and product line store owners face.
  • The latest update will also leverage best practices to address one of the biggest needs for creating high performing ecommerce Shopify sites.

So…how soon in “soon”? We have a store we are migrating from Aabaco to Shopify. It is complex because of the sheer numbers of categories. I have purchased the Responsive theme and find it cumbersome to work with so many different types of products…

Sooo any chance you can provide a timeframe? I’ve been reviewing all of your themes before purchasing and I think I’ve settled on Retina, however I don’t want to buy an old theme right before a new one is released.

Any help is appreciated – thanks!!
