Parallax 3.2.0 Shopify theme update adds refined design, new features

Out of the Sandbox’s popular Shopify theme, Parallax, has now been upgraded to version 3.2.0! This latest release contains some key new features that make this dynamic theme even more flexible, and which will improve both the design and functionality of your Shopify store.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new:

Layout

• The hallmark parallax scrolling capability of this theme produces a sense of depth by having the full-width banner images appear to move more slowly on scroll than surrounding sections; but since it may not be an effect you want on every banner or slideshow image, Parallax 3.2.0 offers the ability to turn the parallax scrolling effect on or off on a per-banner basis!
• Both slideshows and image with text overlay sections now include text position as well as text alignment settings, to give you more design choices

Mobile

• We’ve improved the rendering of banner images on mobile devices to avoid extra spacing when the cropping setting is turn on (via General Settings > Layout > “Crop parallax mobile banner images”); for more tips on designing full width banners, check out this post
• Pop-ups are great attention-getters on desktop, but on small screens they can sometimes frustrate your visitors by taking over the entire screen; so in version 3.2 of Parallax, there is a now an option to hide the newsletter signup form on mobile

Miscellaneous

• We’ve added support for multiple pages of orders on the customer account page
• New support for validating the product quantity in the drawer cart
• Shopify recently introduced CAPTCHAs for multiple submissions to newsletter signups, which Parallax 3.2 now supports
• Bug fixes, code improvements and adjustments
