While Mailchimp and Shopify have officially called it quits on their App store partnership, there are a variety of options available for Out of the Sandbox merchants who wish to either continue to use Mailchimp as their email marketing platform or to take this opportunity to explore alternative platforms. We’ll take a look at both options to help you make an informed decision.
Sticking with Mailchimp
Luckily for Turbo customers, there’s a quick and easy fix to enable you to continue using Mailchimp – simply delete the app and instead use the embedded 'Form Action URL' option through the Theme Editor. You can find the step-by-step instructions here. It is important to note, however, that this feature is not an exact replacement for the Mailchimp app, as it will only capture the email addresses of your subscribers and not the sales data from Customers.
For all other themes, Mailchimp has provided a variety of workarounds to enable you to continue syncing your list.
There are a number of apps available that will sync your Shopify customers with your Mailchimp subscriber list, but one of our favourites is the Pixelpop app from Pixel Union as it not only provides a robust suite of features but it also integrates seamlessly with our themes.
